Olympic POS of the future.
The International Design Meeting organized by our partner STI Group was held in Germany from 7 to 10 of March.
Last autumn the European leader in the field of corrugated POS and packaging STI Group has invited all its partners around the world to participate in the design competition dedicated to the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
Within a few months our designers together with specialists from Australia, Brazil, USA, England, Germany, Israel, Spain and Hungary have developed creative solutions and produced models of future displays that would help our clients to promote their own brands on the eve of and during the Summer Olympic Games.
During four days of March designers, representatives of marketing departments and business leaders shared their experiences, talked about local trends in retail and POS-solutions, visited the German chain stores and production facilities of STI Group. Particularly the presentations of Leo Burnett advertising agency and the world's largest producer of corrugated POS RockTenn were very interesting. First of all they have focused on creative and innovations in the field of POS.
The discussion of all RIO 2016 design concepts was the main part of the Meeting. Each company has presented its own vision of POS and prepared models of displays and packaging for different markets and communication channels.
Our company has announced eight different concepts. It’s pleased to note that VIRTU designs were greeted warmly and especially marked by all of our colleagues. Most of our displays were designed as corrugated POS. VIRTU began its activity not long ago in this field of POS. And the reaction of our partners means that we are moving in the right direction.
The Meeting was very interesting and useful for the further development of the company. We thank our partners from STI Group for the excellent organization of the event.
Now there are a few words about some of our design concepts.
The Olympic torch is one of the symbols of the Games. It can be used for promoting body care goods. Various goods series could be promoted among fans of different sports. Demo display on a floor stand can be used separately on store shelves.
The idea of next concept is athlete movement at the time of the greatest sporting intensity. It is suitable for sport equipment, clothes and other goods.
Weightlifter is a symbol of energy that can be get by food, yogurt and cookies. The idea is suitable both for floor stands and packaging.
One of the ideas presented during the Meeting was to combine most recognizable symbols of Rio de Janeiro in a single promotional area: Christ statue, Copacabana beach, Maracana stadium and Sugar Loaf Mountain.
